The Use of Bug Flaps

Hundreds of bugs may be trying to make their way into your home, especially when the weather gets cooler or attracted to the light inside. You may think that a pesticide or spray would be the answer to eliminating these pests, but these products are often harmful to animals and children. Instead, this product will keep them outside where they belong.

Bug Proofing Your Home

It’s always a good idea to do a little “pest-proofing” when concerned about infestations. Let’s look at some tips that will keep those annoying little creatures on the outside where they belong.

Inspect your screens. Every window of the house should have a screen. Check for rips, holes, or warping that causes gaps to appear between the frame and the screen.

If you can, add a self-closing mechanism to your outside doors. There are also plenty of screen doors that will close by themselves. This reduces the risk of a door being accidentally left open, especially by kids or pets.

Make sure all of your door seals are properly sealed.

Use caulk or silicone to seal visible cracks around the doors and windows.

When installing a pest flap, install it at the very base of the door and window. The flap isn’t properly sealed if you can still see some light underneath the door.

Seal your utilities properly. These include pipes, vents, faucets, wires, meters, and vents.
